Eleven runners have been confirmed in the final field for Saturday’s featured 2015 CB Cox Stakes (2100m) at Ascot Racecourse; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.
Delicacy has returned to racing in typically great condition this season and remains clear favourite in 2015 CB Cox Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au currently rated an outright $1.60 chance of passing the post in the clear.
Undoubtedly one of Perth’s standout thoroughbreds, Delicacy has posted an impressive ten wins and five minors through her short but impressive seventeen start career so far.
Running third in the Listed Make Your Own Magic Challenge (1500m) on February 14th, the Al Maher mare produced an impressive winning streak when taking out each of the Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas (1800m), Listed Natasha Stakes (2200m), Group 3 WA Oaks (2400m) and Group 2 WATC Derby (2400m) in succession.
Set for a maiden tilt at the highest level in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on May 2nd, Delicacy delivered a strong field a commanding defeat before repeating the dose against the colts and geldings in the Group 1 SA Derby (2500m) only one week later.
Having posted a number of impressive results this time highlighted by a close second in the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) a fortnight ago, Delicacy will be very hard to beat over the distance and at the conditions.
Stable mate Real Love is yet to make much of an impact this time but interestingly figures as the only other runner currently available at CB Cox Stakes odds of less than $10 at a current quote of $4.60.
Arguably finding career-best form to date through the 2014/15 summer carnival, Real Love won the Group 3 Queen’s Cup (2200m) before continuing her undefeated run through each of the Listed WA St Leger (2100m) and Group 2 Perth Cup (2400m).
Returning this time for success in the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) on October 31st, the Desert King mare has since finished mid-pack in each of the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) and Kingston Town Classic.
Black Heart Bart has been charged with overcoming a race-high 59kgs but remains third favourite for success on Saturday at 2015 CB Cox Stakes odds of $11.
Black Heart Bart returned to racing this year for consecutive wins in each of the Listed Summer Scorcher (1000m), Listed Cyril Flower Stakes (1200m), Listed Pinjarra Classic (1300m) and Listed Bunbury Stakes (1400m) before overcoming an early check to place fourth in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) in South Australia.
Resuming this time for wins in the Listed Birthday Stakes (1200m), Group 3 Northerly Stakes (1420m) and Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes (1400m), Black Heart Bart has since placed fourth in the Railway Stakes but might be a query at the distance on Saturday after running ninth in the Kingston Town Classic last time out.
